Well, here it is. Election Day. This may be the single most important election in the history of the United States of America. The action of America on this date will help shape the face of not only this nation, not only of all free nations, but of the entire world.
This election may also have one of the highest turnouts for voters ever. This could be a great thing. That is, assuming that American’s across the country stand up today and vote for what they believe in. Don’t vote for one candidate just because you don’t like one of the others. Don’t vote for a candidate because that is whom your friends are voting for. Don’t vote for a candidate because your union or employer tells you that they are the better choice. Vote for the candidate whom you think is the best person for the job. Vote for the person with the ideals and beliefs that are more like your own. You may not agree with everything that one candidate does or says, but it is ok to disagree.
In the last 4 years, I have not agreed with everything the president I helped elect has done. Does this make him a bad person, a failure, a liar? No. It’s ok to disagree. Hell, my wife and I don’t agree on everything. It’s ok.
Am I going to vote for Bush again this year? Yes. Why? Well, there are several reasons:
- I will not vote for a man that does not support the US Armed Forces and their mission.
- I will not vote for a man that that claims to be pro-2nd amendment yet has voted on almost every instance to ban guns.
- I will not vote for a vice president that has missed ~90% of the votes. – Can he possibly represent America if he doesn’t even represent his own state?
- I will not vote for a man that thinks the UN should decided how America protects itself.
- I will not vote for a man that continues to bad mouth and degrade the efforts and support of our allies.
Should Bush win again, and I hope he does, we won’t be seeing a concession speech from the Democrat party. Kerry and his goons have hired 10,000 lawyers to contest any state that is borderline between Bush and Kerry. They plan to drag this out as long as they can, regardless of the cost, regardless of the impact on American lives, regardless of the impact of American perception around the world. This is going to be and ugly fight.
I’ll probably post again tonight with thoughts of the whole Election Day stuff… well see. I’ll be glued to the newscast, as I’m sure many Americans will be.
