Well, despite wanting to see “The Incredibles” this weekend, we ended up seeing “Surviving Christmas”. With the premise was pretty dumb, the movie itself had a good bit of humor to it.
The basic gist of the story is a guy (Ben Aflack) who had a rough childhood and is now a wealthy businessman has spent most of (if not all) his Christmases alone. He ends up going to his childhood home, now owned by strangers. The people now living there offer to put the guy up for the Christmas holiday in return for $250,000. So, of course they agree to it. After problems between the guy and his hired family, as well as the family’s own problems this guy and the daughter of the family fall in love, everything works out and Christmas is a happy time for them all.
The overall moral of the story, Money cannot buy happiness.
