Finally Found A WoW Guild

I first started playing MMORPGs years ago in Ultima Online. Ultime Online was the best Online Role Playing games that I had ever seen. Compared to today’s MMORPGs, Ultima Online didn’t have much as far as physical game. Truth is, what made it so damn good was many of the Role Playing guilds on the Catskills Shard (their word for server).

With guilds like “The Celts”, “The Picts”, “Order of the Druids”, “Shadowclan Orcs”, “The Village of Kinship”, “The Knights of Yew”, and many, many other guilds there was always something going on.

Over the years, I tried several other MMORPGs; Asheron’s Call, Everquest, Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, and others, but I always came back to Ultima Online. While the games offered more physical they severally lacked the community that Ultima Online had, and I always found myself back in the world of Britinia.

Well, when Shadowbane came out, I found myself in a rich world with a lot of fellow role players. It was my intention at that time to form my own guild in Shadowbane known as “The Warriors of the North.” My guild was going to be loosely based off of my Ultima Online guild, The Celts.

After some of the lore from Shadowbane was released, I began working on my guilds background, history, lore, story, whatever you want to call it. Then, it was to my surprise that my guild of just a few members had made it into the Shadowbane lore. I was honored.

Despite this, it was evident that a small guild was just not possible in the world of Shadowbane. Due to this, I found myself looking for a new home. This was when I found the “Frost Horde”. This was a guild I thought would be perfect for my character, as we had many ideas in common… Sadly, I was disappointed.

I would eventually come across “The Sanguine Wild” which I fit into almost perfictly. It was with this guild that I would spend my remaining time in Shadowbane.

Eventually, Shadowbane would grow old. The constant farming for gold to help support your own town would prove to be to much for me. Though I would miss the huge battles from Shadowbane.

After Shadowbane I dropped out of the MMORPG scene for sometime. Actually, it was around this time that I became more involved with OverclockersClub.com. Spending time reviewing, updating news, moderating the froums, and everything else, I really didn’t have time for MMORPGs.

Here it is now, I find myself once again inside of an MMORPG. World of Warcraft, despite the somewhat cartoony graphics, has me mesmerized. I can’t stop playing it. Part of this is probably because the wife enjoys playing it as well. ;)

Since before WoW was released, I have been a member of the World of Warcraft: Roleplaying Alliance (WoW:RA). My goal was to find a server with many other Roleplayers, and hopefully find a guild that I fit into, well, at least that one of my characters fit into. ;)

It’s taken several weeks now, but I’ve finally found me a guild I like and think I’ll fit in, Golden Hall. They’ve been very kind so far, and a great group to quest with.

Over this weekend alone, five of us from Golden Hall have killed at least 30 horde characters by ourselves. We will have our names known. ;)
