Yahoo! has released a beta version of its toolbar for the Moxilla Firefox web browser.
According to the release notes, this beta should only be used on Firefox 1.0 or later. It has not been cleared for use with Mozilla, Netscape, or other Gecko based browsers. The Press Release has a bit more.
Yahoo isn’t the first search engine to produce a Firefox toolbar, Amazon’s A9 Search also has a toolbar that can be used with Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, and IE. So far, there is no word on if or when Google plans to release a Google Toolbar for Firefox.
After the recent news about Yahoo! Suing XFire, there was a call from OCC Members,the XFire user community, and many others to boycott Yahoo. I’m all for it.
