I guess this is kinda sad news, but I’ve never really cared for the Mozilla Application Suite. In fact, I haven’t seen a Gecko based browser that I really like… which is part of the reason I use Opera.
Anyway, enough of that… MozillaZine.org has an item up that says, “The 1.7.x line will be the last set of Mozilla Application Suite products released and maintained by the Mozilla Foundation and all future suite versions from the Foundation will be minor updates only“.
That doesn’t really mean the Mozilla Application Suite is dead, as there will still be a loyal community that will work on the code and publish future version. Mozilla is an open source program after all.
