AltaVista Founder Moves To Google

SearchEngineWatch.com reported the other day that Louis Monier, the founder of a once great search engine known as AltaVista, would be moving to the Googleplex.

They have since confirmed the story, and say Louis is now a Google employee.

Louis left AltaVista in 1999 and became the chief technical officer at eBay. According to SEW, Louis has an agenda to work on whatever he wants to at Google, and a change from the e-commerce would be welcomed.

Though with the news and rumors (link | link | link) about a possible Google rival to eBay and PayPal, it really makes you wonder what exactly Louis will be doing. Froogle maybe?
