PvPRP.com

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

A new site has sprung up hoping to build a community for the upcoming RP-PvP server for World of Warcraft. The new site is appropriately (and simply) PvPRP.com. Or was it PRPvP.com?

It’s only been up and running for one day, but I’d expect it to replace WoW-RA.com when they finish their merger with OGaming.

Yet Another New World of Warcraft Server

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Blizzard Entertainment has just brought up the 101st server (complete list) for the extremely popular World of Warcraft MMORPG. There is still no RP-PvP server, though Blizzard has repeatably stated that such a server would not be available until around the time of the next content patch.

There had been a lot of speculation in the WoW Forums that the RP-PvP server would be called “Dark Iron” however that rumor was crushed today when a server by that name was brought up as a regular PvP server.

The servers added over the last week (or so) are:

  • Dark Iron (PvP)
  • Ursin (PvP)
  • Moonrunner (PvE)
  • Kalecgos (PvP)

According to C|Net News a judge in the legal spat between Microsoft and Google, has granted Microsoft’s request for a temporary restraining order to prevent Kai-Fu Lee from violating his noncompete agreement.

Round one is clearly a Microsoft victory, but this bout is far from over.

Enterprise, Farscape, Firefly, The Stargates, and Battlestar

Friday, July 29th, 2005

One of the members at OCC started a topic talking about Stargate: SG-1.

So far, it looks like I’m the only person who is enjoying the new SG-1 team. Though, I think everyone is in agreement that Farscape sucked. :p

With such a discussion about Stargate:SG-1, it’s hard not to bring up Stargate: Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Farscape, Firefly, and many of the other similar SciFi series.

Hopefully, the discussion will stay alive (and on track) for a while. I’m interested in seeing what other members have to say about SG-1, Atlantis, and everything else. ;)

And of course, it is Friday. That means from 7:00PM till 11:00PM is SciFi Friday. Most importantly, it means a new episode of Battlestar Galactica. :p

RIAA vs WoW: A Hoax?

Friday, July 29th, 2005

According to the World of Warcraft Warcray, it looks as if the whole RIAA vs WoW thing may have just been a hoax.

Even if that is a hoax, the RIAA has sued 765 more alleged illegal file sharers.

Cracked Windows Anti-crack Scheme Cracked

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Microsoft’s attempt to block anyone from updating pirated versions of Windows has been cracked, and in less than 24 hours after Microsoft’s scheme went into play.

Drats! Microsoft would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids. ;)

Oh… and to add a bit more humor to this. The system was cracked by using a script that ran in Internet Explorer. It appears that IE is a pain in the ass to everyone, even those that created it.
