VH1 Sunday just doesn’t have the same ring to it as “SciFi Friday”. Guess that’s why VH1 doesn’t call it that, eh? But why do they still call themselves VH1? “Video Hits 1″ isn’t exactly what they are anymore… but then, MTV isn’t Music TV either, now is it? Ok… I won’t go there…
It’s been a long time since I actually planned on sitting down to watch something on VH1. I may find something in passing, but that’s about it. Well, a while back a good friend of mine talked me into watching Surreal Life. I watched Joanie Laurer (China from WWF/WWE), Verne Troyer (mini-Me), and some other washed up people. The show was fraking hilarious. So, I decided that I’d watch Season 5 which started a week ago yesterday.
Omarosa, Pepa, Caprice, Jose Canseco, Janice Dickinson, Carey Hart, and Bronson Pinchot. Not exactly washed up people, with maybe the exception of Bronson.
Omarosa isn’t acting like the bitch that everything thinks she is. Actually, I’ve been very impressed by her. Pepa, Caprice, Jose, and Carey are having a good time and not acting like morons. Pretty laid back and just chilling.
Then there is Bronson, the washed up actor who is mainly known for his role as Balki on “Perfect Strangers”. He’s an idiot who thinks every woman there is in love with him, and thinks that they are all going to “hook up” during the show. Yeah right Bronson. You are a washed up loser.
Next we have Janice Dickinson. The winner from “America’s Next Top Supermodel” or some stupid reality show like that. How the heck this ugly chick won is beyond me. I think I described her to my wife last night as “an ugly, psycho, bitch.” I still think that is what best describes her, though you could probably add insensitive and stupid to the list. I hope someone kicks her ass during the show.
After that goes off is “Hogan Knows Best” staring non-other than Terry “Hulk” Hogan and the rest of the Hogan family. It’s entertaining, but not near as funny as what I saw from “The Osbornes” or “Meet The Barkers”. It is fun to watch simply because it’s a person than many people grew up idolizing.
Though I have been taking notes from Hogan when it comes to parenting. My children are going to be in trouble.
