I’m still playing catch up on everything that happened last week while I was on vacation, while trying to stay on tope of the day-to-day things. I’ve been reading a lot of the post over at Opera Watch to find out what’s been going on with that.
First off, Happy Birthday to my favorite browser!
On 8/19/05 Opera turned 10 years old! And what’s a birthday without a party? There will be a virtual party held for Opera on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 @ 9:00 AM EDT. To join in on the fun, just go to http://my.opera.com/community/party/.
During the event, Opera is supposed to have a “big surprise” for everyone. Rumor is that Opera Software could be changing the business model for the desktop browser and making it ad free. Some more thoughts on this are available in this forum thread.
Speaking of the Opera Forums, they have exceeded 1 Million total post. The very first post was on 09/07/2001. As Opera Watch pointed out, “the Opera forums ranks 43rd of the top English software forums on the web, according to Big-Boards.”
