Was reading through the news this morning and came across the latest story on Opera Watch where Daniel was commenting on this PCWorld article.

According to the PCWorld article Opera 9.0 will support widgets. If this is true, we haven’t seen it in the latest technical preview (pre-beta version). Anyway, here is a snip from the PCWorld article:

Although we were unable to test these features, the company says the final version will include support for widgets, small external programs that use Opera’s engine and can run on the desktop.

Now, I don’t know if this is true or not, but it could be very cool if implemented correctly. It does make some since for Opera to do something like this. After all, Opera is more than just a browser it is an internet suite, and since most widgets (but not all) retrieve data and information from the internet, well you get the point.

Unfortunately Daniel from Opera Watch wasn’t able to get much information from Opera Software.
