Here is one for the rumor mill involving Opera Software and Google. 
According to Pierre Chappaz, former president of Yahoo! Europe, Google is set to acquire Opera Software. Search Engine Watch has a bit more on the topic, and it is posted in English. 
The funny thing is, I’ve posted on numerous occasions (1, 2) why I thought it would make sense for Google to buy Opera. Of course that was back when Opera still supported ads in the free version.
While the SEW article goes on to post that Google Maps was updated to support Opera, they failed to mention that a number of other Google services have slight issues with the Opera Browser. You can read more about those issues in the Opera Forums.
Opera Watch has stated that an unnamed Opera official has flat out denied this rumor.
