It finally happened last night. Kalis, my main character on the Maelstrom server hit level 60 putting an end to the experience grinding, and turning his focus back to what I really enjoy, PvP.
Just now hitting 60? Well, with this character, yes. When the Maelstrom server came out, I left a number of characters behind on the Bleeding Hollow server, including my level 60 warrior, Hyglak.
The sad part is, I could have been level 60 months ago had I put any real effort into it. Instead, I spent most of my time during the 30’s in the battlegrounds (areas of instanced group PvP). In fact, I spent so much time in Arathi Basin during my 30’s I managed to gain at least one full level. I suspect that I actually gained more than one, but it’s all kind of blurred together now.
The thing I hated the most is that the 50’s PvP bracket (levels 50-59) would hardly queue for Warsong Gultch or Arathi Basin, the two battlegrounds I enjoy the most. In fact, it was so bad, that during the “bonus honor weekends” for those two battlegrounds, you were luck if you even managed to get into a single game. WTH is up with that Maelstrom?
To feed my PvP addition, I ended up twinking out a level 19 Orc Hunter to compete in the 10-19 Warsong Gultch… well, let’s face it, it’s really only a 19 WSG.
In fact, for a while, I was actually playing my level 19 hunter more than I was playing my “main” character.
But things have changed now; Kalis has joined the big leagues. If the battlegrounds last night were any indication, the Alliance had better watch out.
