Google UI's To Be Redesigned?

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Looks like a common design may finally be coming to Google. They have hired Doug Bowman on as Visual Design Lead. A bit of irony here, as he worked on the redesign of sites such as Lycos and HotBot.

Personally, I think Google should look at Andy Rutledge’s work.

X-Men: The Last Stand

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Farrah and I went to see X-Men 3 yesterday. I was a little disappointed that they changed some of the characters, but overall I thought the movie was pretty good. I wrote a bit more about it here.

Here It Is Again

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

Just wanted to (re)post about a new Technology Related News & Support Forum that is online and looking for beta testers. — Actually, it’s been online for a while now, but someone (not to mention any names, Sykocus) complained that I didn’t say anything about it.

What I need right now, is people to register at the site, and use it like they would any support forum. Ask questions, post replies, and engage in discussions. Through the normal use of the forums, you may encounter bugs, glitches, problems, or otherwise something that doesn’t work. If you come across anything like that, let me know so I can fix it. That’s all there is to it. :)

The forums are available at forums.techrelated.com. See ya there.

Google Notebook

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

The Google Notebook service is now live on Google Labs.

When you first try and use the service, you’ll be given the ability to download a IE plugin or a Firefox extension. This allows you to create notes about the page you are viewing, or highlight text on the page and copy it to a note. You can also create and edit notes right from www.google.com/notebook/.

More information is available in the Google Notebook Overview and the FAQ.

I wonder if we’ll ever see an Opera Widget for this.

Yahoo!'s New Portal

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

Internet Explorer and Firefox users can take a sneak peak at the redesigned Yahoo Homepage.

Not a bad design, but still more crap than I care to see. Also, the page doesn’t validate to HTML 4.01 Strict.
