Digg.com v3 Released & CSS "Hacks"

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Digg.com rolled out “Digg version 3″ today which among other things changed the layout of the site. The user menu which had been on the right side was moved to the left during this change, and more than a few people didn’t like this.

A fellow digger posted CSS on his blog for Firefox users to get the bar back on the right side…. well, I’ve taken the code and written a brief guide for Opera users.

Opera 9.0 Released

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

I’ve already posted this over at TechRelated.com and OverclockersClub.com, so most of you have probably already seen this bit of “news”. :P

Opera 9.0 has officially been released. More speed, more power, BitTorrent, widgets, and a lot of other improvements. What’s not to love about Opera? ;)

Picasa Web Albums Screenshots

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

I posted earlier talking about Google’s new service, Picasa Web Albums. Since the time I posted that, I’ve managed to get into the test and snag a few screenshots for you to view. You can see them over at TechRelated.com Forums. :)

Picasa Web Albums (Beta)

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

It’s been a hot rumor on the net for the past few weeks, and now it has finally materialized. Google’s Picasa photo management software has opened up, for a limited number of people, Picasa Web Albums.

The service, if you can get in, will allow you to host about 1000 images for free. If you run out of room after that, there is the option to upgrade to 6GB of storage for a yearly fee of $25.00. Kind of makes me wonder if that is a direction that GMail will be headed.

Happy Anniversary

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

Over the weekend (June 11th) the wife and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary together. We had a lot of fun in a secluded cabin in the Smokey Mountains. I’ll post some picks of it later today, and I’m sure she’ll have something to say about it on her blog.

Speaking of screenshots, I also got around to taking some of Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2. Like the Google Spreadsheet screenshots, I’ve posted the Office 2007 images at TechRelated.com.

Google Spreadsheets

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Earlier in the week, Google released Google Spreadsheets in limited-beta. I was able to get access to this, and decided to post some screenshots of of Google’s latest utility.

While I was at it, I decided to do a mini writeup on the ajax driven, web based application. You’ll find the screenshots and write up over at TechRelated.com.

Can’t Keep Me Down

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

You may have noticed that d3bruts1d.com was extremely slow for the past two days. In fact, it was so slow that depending on your browser, d3bruts1d.com may not have even loaded.

With the help of my hosting provider, I was able to find and fix the script that was causing the problem. I’ve also put a fix into place to keep this problem from happening again.

The “downtime” also gave me a chance to upgrade to the latest version of e107.
