What In The Blue Hell?

What in the blue hell are my painters doing? The paint job around the backside of my house looks like shit. It’s got to be one of the worst paint jobs that I have ever seen. Granted, some of the wood wasn’t in the best shape, but that’s still no excuse for what has been done here.

Wood siding isn’t fun to paint, but it’s not that hard to do. I could have painted my house, and probably should have, but I opted to go with hired help. I figured it’d get done faster and probably look a bit better. That’s not what I’m seeing. There was some really nice work done around front, especially around the porch area. I don’t know if I could even describe the back paint job right now.

The scraped some of the old paint off, leaving deep gashes in the wood and didn’t even bother to sand it down afterwards. To make matters even worse, I gave the guys two big things of wood filler and told them they could borrow my electric sander. I even got the expensive self-priming paint. They just needed to clean the areas off and paint. There is absolutely no excuse for this shabby job.

Grrr.

Pownce Gets Imified

You can now post to Pownce via Imified thanks to the unofficial API.

I’m still using the Pownce website to post. Keep hoping that a widget/extension will be released for Opera, Trillian, or Firefox. Though this is certainly a step in the right direction.

More On Man vs. Wild

Came across this via Digg Video. You know, I hardly use that section of Digg.

The phony bear faked it in Kilauea Volcano also. He taped most of the show a few hundred feet from the highway. Most of the scenes in the show don’t exist in the area he was supposed to be in: avocado trees, lava tube, tropical forest are all in different parts of the island. I have hiked this area hundreds of times. I can understand how people who have not been to the area may think it’s legitimate, but I was surprised how easy it was to dupe the Discovery Channel. It would be suicidal to follow the advice given by this show.

And the video can be found here.
