What Have I Been Watching?

There’s been a lot on TV as of late, and several things I’ve found myself watching. It’s not all good, but for some reason I continue to watch it. Why not, after all once I find a show that I really like (Black Donnellys, Jericho, The War at Home) it ends up on the chopping block.

So, here is what I’ve been watching so far, and my initial thoughts of the show:

Dexter – I love this guy. He’s a serial killer that only goes after the “bad guys”. Does two wrongs actually make a right in this situation? Who cares, the show is fraking awesome! If you’re looking for a twisted show to watch, check out Dexter on Shotime. Last I remember, you can still catch season one via Comcast OnDemand for free.

House – I never really got into the medical dramas, but this one is so different. You’ll love and hate Dr. House at the same time. There is more to the show that just interesting medical mysteries, the interaction between the different characters is great. House always gets in a few good one-liners.

Stargate: Atlantis – I was hoping that there would be something more to this show with the cancellation of Stargate: SG-1, but so far SG:A is just the same as ever. Maybe we’re just getting off to a slow start, or maybe the show just can’t get any better. I stick around hoping it’ll get better.

Bionic Woman – This show is starting to grow on me more. It was kind of dull with the first few episodes, but it’s picking up a little bit. So far I like the “bad” Bionic Woman (Katee Sackhoff) better than I like the good girl (Michelle Ryan). Let’s hope the character development and the plots get better.

Heroes – Season two has been interesting and somewhat disappointing at the same time. They need to get more funding for the special effects department. I think that’d help make things a lot better.

Pushing Daisies – There really isn’t anything about this show that I like, yet for some reason I watch it week after week. It’s like a bad wreck, I just cannot look away. I wish something else would come on in this time slot so I’d have other options.

Moonlight – It’s a vampire show, but the key vampire is a good guy. Everything you know from other vampire stories doesn’t apply here, except for the fact that they drink blood. It’s not bad, but it ain’t great either. Kind of has that film noir feel to it from time to time.

Journeyman – If you take all of the key elements away from Quantum Leep, yo’d basically be left with Journeyman. Hopefully it’ll get a lot more interesting once we find out exactly what the heck is going on. Though to be honest, I’d rather that they get that plot aspect over with already.

Chuck – I love this show. You’ve got a geek, who has all the secrets of the FBI, NSA, CIA, etc. stuck in his head. He’s no spy, but he’ll help save the world at ~$7.00 an hour.

Reaper – This one is just silly. You’ve got a 21-year-old who’s parents sold his soul to the devil. Now the kid is a bounty hunter for hell. Sounds cool, but the guy and his friends are all dorks working at a Home Depot rip off. You’d think the devil would have come up with another way for this guy to serve hell.

That’s pretty much it. Anyone else watching these shows? If so, I’d love to hear what you think about ‘em.

I'm with you on House, Chuck (I gave up Prison Break), Heroes, and Dexter. I started watching Dexter toward the end of the 1st season. I became hooked and went and bought Season 1 on DVD. I seen only one episode of Pushing Daisies (interesting) and Journeyman. I'm also a fan of Jericho, have to wait until Jan/Feb.
