For those of you that don’t know, ABC has planted a number of billboards around the globe to promote the fictional airliner Oceanic Air. Each of these billboards have appeared in a location where the airline will have destinations. These locations are Los Angeles, CA, Tustin, CA, Ames, IA, Miami, FL, New York, NY, Portland, OR, Knoxville, TN, Seoul, South Korea, and Sydney, Australia.
With the exception of the Seoul and Miami billboards, they’ve all been found, and posted on popular Lost related blogs such as Doc Arzt’s LOST Blog and DarkUFO. Is there a hidden message or meaning to the signs? It wouldn’t be LOST without some kind of hidden something. But what is it?
I first thought that it might be the messages each one delivers. Here are what the billboards say:
Los Angeles, CA: “The adventure begins here.”
Tustin, CA: “Discover the mysteries of Berlin.”
Ames, IA: “Lose yourself in London.”
Miami, FL:
New York, NY: “Lose yourself in London.”
Portland, OR: “A new life awaits you in Seoul.”
Knoxville, TN: “Find your way back to LA.”
Seoul, South Korea:
Sydney, Australia: “Fly to LA.”
Is there any meaning here? We cannot be sure as two of the pieces are still missing. But if New York and the Imes billboards are the same, it is quite possible that Seoul and Miami could also be duplicates of existing billboards. Or they could be a missing clue.
What I find interesting is the location of three billboards… again, the duplicate location of London presented in the New York and the Ames billboards and Berlin from the Tustin billboard. Why are these two locations mentioned? These are not part of Oceanic Air’s destinations. Are there more significant clues there, or are the location themselves the clue?
