There are a lot of movies scheduled to come out this year, some are sure to be great and others are sure to suck. Most likely a majority of the movies will fall into the 2nd column, but I’ll still go see them anyway. I’ve started the year off good, Sweeney Todd was an amazing movie, and if I had written this list 2 weeks ago, it would have topped it. But I’ve already seen it, so there is no point in adding it to a list of movies that I want to see this year, now is there?
So, here are the movies I’m waiting for…
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale – Sure it’s a movie based on a video game, and it’s directed by Uwe Boll so it’s bound to suck. Though it does star Jason Statham, so maybe he’ll be able to salvage the movie.
Cloverfield – There is a lot of hype around this movie, let’s hope it is worth it. Looks like it could be an epic monster movie, I just hope that the use of hand held cameras aren’t a downfall.
Rambo - This guy never dies. The trailer for this movie look like it may well be the bloodiest Rambo movie today.
Jumper – Here is a movie that really looks interesting. The first time I saw the trailer, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. It’s got the “wow factor”, will it a decent plot and good acting? We’ll see.
Iron Man – Iron Man was always one of my favorite comic book characters (along with Wolverine and The Punisher), so I am eagerly awaiting the release of this movie. I wasn’t sure about Robert Downey Jr. playing the part, but the trailer looks pretty damn good.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – It’s Indiana Jones, how can this not be good? Too bad it won’t have Sean Connery playing dad.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army – I loved the first one, and have enjoyed the animated movies. This one is bound to be good.
The Dark Knight – Christian Bale kicked ass as Batman, and from what I’ve seen of this it’ll be just as good as the first.
That’s the list so far, I’m sure there are other movies that are coming out this year that I’ll want to see.
