It’s only been in the box office for a few days, and there is already talk about a sequel to Cloverfield. Cool news, and I really hope this happens. — I’m not one that usually wants to see a sequel, but I think Cloverfield really deserves one. Actually, I’ll be pissed if there isn’t a foll up.

What could Cloverfield II be? I was actually talking to some of the guys at work about this today. They could do a couple of things with Cloverfield II. The first thing they could do is tell the exact same story, during the exact same time period, but this time tell it from someone in he military. One of the soldiers out there actually trying to fight the monster. Film it using a “helmet camera” or something like that.

The second, and more obvious thing they can do is just a “true sequel”. Just someone else filming the events immediately following the events of the first movie. Maybe this time around we’ll find out more about the creature, where it came from, and why it’s so pissed off.

If they do it right, Cloverfield could be a epic saga.
