Just about everywhere you look, you’ll see people comparing Batman: Gotham Knight to The Animatrix. Any why not, both were straight-to-DVD, animated films, made up of a number of short stories that rode on the back of a highly successful movie franchise.

While Gotham Knight offers more action than The Dark Knight, it really doesn’t offer much more than that. While the animation wasn’t bad, I’ve seen better on Saturday morning TV. If this was a few years ago, I might have been impressed.

Story wise, they all pretty much tie in together. Covering some events between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight… and even a bit of a Batman Beings prequel in the form of a flashback.
