What if Apple Created a Gaming Console?

Everyone refers to the Xbox 360, PS3, and to a lesser extent the Nintendo Wii as a “next gen” gaming console. Does that mean the next round of consoles (Xbox 3602, PS4, Wii2) will be third gen, or will they just be the new “next gen”? I know, who cares, right?

A while back Apple announced to investors that there would be a “product transition”. No one is really sure what this is, or when it would be. Some think it was the new iPod Nano, the change to the iPod Touch, or even the new MacBooks. Others think it may be some kind of NetBook or Apple Tablet. Still others think it could be a new networked type TV. And some people think we have yet to se it.

Well, what if Apple were to venture into the realm of console gaming systems… better yet, what if they already had, and you didn’t know it. Perhaps you already have an Apple console in your living room, office, or bedroom. It may not be as big of a stretch as you think. Continue reading

Grrr: It Is Not Medium

Over the last few days, with the help of McDonald’s, I have discovered something that really annoys the crap out of me…. mater of fact, it annoys me more than when they get my order wrong. This of course could simply be because McDonald’s in the greater Knoxville area appear to be incapable of getting an order correct.

Anyway… Monday (and again today) the wife and I went to McDonald’s with the intention of ordering a nice iced coffee. To be honest, when (in the rare occasion) they get it right, actually tasted better that Starbucks (IMO). I made the mistake of ordering a “small” iced coffee. To which, I was promptly informed, “we only have medium and large.”

Now, the Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines medium as:

a: something in a middle position b: a middle condition or degree
Pronunciation:  \ˈmē-dē-əm\
Etymology: Latin, from neuter of medius middle — more at mid

In order for this size to be in the middle (and classify as a medium), they need to offer a minimum of three sizes. They don’t, they offer two. Therefore they should call it a small and a large, or a regular and a large. Either way, it’s not a fraking medium.

Ok, I feel better now.

Poll: What is your favorite Chinese dish?

I’ve never been one that’s shy when it comes to trying new food. I love food, and I love to eat. Though I must admit, when it comes to eating once I find something I like, it’s hard for me to break away from that.

When I first started eating Chinese, that wasn’t at a buffet, it was usually General Tso’s Chicken or Cashew Chicken. While I’ll grab some Lo Mein every once in a while, for the past some-teen month’s I’ve been hooked on Steamed Dumplings and Crab Rangoon.

Not that I plan on trying anything different, but I wanted to see what other people ordered when they picked up Chinese. So, let me know!
