Yesterday I saw Iron Man at the Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18. The movie was one of the best I have seen in a long time, not only was it one of the best Superhero origin movies, it was probably one of Robert Downey Jr.’s best performances. While I was thrilled with the movie, I’ve also got to say that this also happened to be one of the worst movie experiances ever.

I saw the digital showing of Iron Man. Who would pass that up, right? Well, the theater experienced issues with their digital projector causing the movie to skip and studder every couple of minutes. It studdered more than Max Hedroom… though Max was cool. Thankfully, the theater did give everyone a free pass, so I’ll probably go back and see it again later.

For me, this ranked right up there with Batman Begins. RDJ was an awesome Tony Stark, and I’ll love to see Iron Man 2.

I wasn’t the only one there who loved the movie. Despite the studdering, there was a scene that actually caused people to clap while the movie was still playing. I’d wager that they would have clapped afterwards as well if we hadn’t been ready to mob the box office.

Go see it. It’s fracking awesome!

There are a lot of movies scheduled to come out this year, some are sure to be great and others are sure to suck. Most likely a majority of the movies will fall into the 2nd column, but I’ll still go see them anyway. I’ve started the year off good, Sweeney Todd was an amazing movie, and if I had written this list 2 weeks ago, it would have topped it. But I’ve already seen it, so there is no point in adding it to a list of movies that I want to see this year, now is there?

So, here are the movies I’m waiting for… Continue reading »

While it hasn’t exactly reached “blockbuster” status, Batman Begins held the number one box office spot for the second week.

Though, from the looks of things it didn’t have much competition. Being that coming up we have the July 4th holiday weekend, I’d say Batman’s days are numbered.

  1. “Batman Begins,” $26.8 million.
  2. “Bewitched,” $20.2 million.
  3. “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” $16.75 million.
  4. “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” $12.75 million.
  5. “George Romero’s Land of the Dead,” $10.2 million.
  6. “Madagascar,” $7.3 million.
  7. “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith,” $6.25 million.
  8. “The Longest Yard,” $5.5 million.
  9. “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D,” $3.4 million.
  10. “Cinderella Man,” $3.3 million.

War of the Worlds opens this Wednesday with Fantastic Four and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comming in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully all of them will be good. ;)

Yesterday was pretty fun. I ended up dragging the wife out of the house by her hair and to the movie theater to see the newest reincarnation of Gothem City’s Dark Knight. Batman of course.

I was kind of worried about seeing some lesser known actor playing Batman, but considering how bad of a job people like Val Kilmer and George Clooney did, it couldn’t possibly get any worse.

I must say, I was extremely impressed with Christian Bale’s performance. Batman Begins is the best Batman movie yet, and I’d like to see Bale back as Batman again. ;)

They did alter the “history” of the previous Batman movies, but at this point, I’m ready to forget the others even happened. :p Batman Begins is absolutely a must see movie for any Batman fan, but it’s also one of the better movies so far this year.
