Sophia Myles Talks About Moonlight

FEARnet.com has an interview with Sophia Myles who plays Beth on CBS’s Moonlight. It was a bit slow to start, but I overall enjoyed Moonlight. Matter of fact, I was starting to like it so much, I was anticipating it being canceled (The Black Donnellys or Jericho anyone?). Looks like we might see a season two if the WGA strike ever ends.

Oh, and did you know that Sophia was also a character in Underworld? I loved Underworld, but didn’t realize she was in it! She was also “the girl in the mirror” for you Dr. Who fans. ;)

Fans Are Rice For Journeyman

Looks like fans of Journeyman are taking a page out of the Jericho book. When CBS canceled Jericho, fans (including me) sent tons of nuts to CBS headquarters. The nutty planned worked, and soon Jericho will be back for a short season two. Now fans are trying a similar approach with NBC over Journeyman.

While it’s not as cool as the whole “Nuts for Jericho / Save Jericho” campaign, the Save Journeyman campaign is asking fans to send in Rice-A-Roni to NBC and NBC Universal executives. Why send in boxes of “The San Fransisco Treat”? Because Journeyman is set in that location. Duh.

Jericho: The Return

We’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and finally the wait is just about over. After a long, hard fight Jericho returns to CBS on February 12th. Remember, we only got an initial seven episodes for season two. If there is enough interest in these seven episodes, we’ll get a full season two. Remember to spread the word about the return of Jericho!

If you need a refresher, if you missed anything that happened in season one, or you never watched the show to begin with you can watch every episode for free online at CBS.com. And for those of you that haven’t seen it yet, there is a trailer for Jericho sitting out on YouTube. Let me say, the trailer rocks! Looks like CBS might actually help the show this time around.

Writers Guild of America Strikes

Not to be confused with the Film Actors Guild, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has gone on strike. If you watch TV, this is bad for you, and you might even see the impact starting tonight. With the writers on strike, there won’t be anyone available to write new scripts; The direct impact of this is the live shows (such as The Late Show, The Late Late Show, etc.) which record every day.

Our favorite shows like Heroes, Chuck, LOST, and the others will be ok for a while. Most of these shows have several scripts written in advance. Though, if a show doesn’t have enough scripts to make it to the end of the season, or even a mid-season,  then you can see one of several things happen. 1) The show could just end; 2) The show could see “scab” writers brought in, and if this is the case stories, plots, and even the entire show could suffer.

TV Guide has a nice writeup on some of the major things that this could mean for some of our current favorites. One thing it mentions in another article is Heroes.  The Heroes crew has gone back and reshot the Dec. 3rd episode. This episode was meant to tie up the “Generations” story arc, however if the alternate ending is used, it will be able to serve as a season finale.

Sadly, the writers for “Reality TV” type shows aren’t apart of the WGA. This means that if the strike goes on too long, we’ll see a large influx of crap across every channel. Yes, I know you thought it couldn’t get any worse.

"To The Fans of Jericho" Ad From CBS

Just noticed a cool ad from CBS running on Google Adwords. In case you are running an adblocker, or if the ad isn’t there any more, I took a screen cap for your viewing pleasure. Assuming this is actually CBS sanctioned, it’s nice to see CBS responding to the fans in such a way.

Let’s hope they really beef up the ad machine when it comes to actually promoting Jericho this time around.
