TigerDirect Coming To An Ex-CompUSA Location Near You

Systemax, owners of TigerDirect.com, have acquired the brand, trademark, e-commerce business, and as many as 16 retail stores from the soon to be (thankfully!) dead CompUSA. Does this mean we could be seeing some TigerDirect stores poping up in the near future?

Will it be enough to take on BestBuy, Circuit City, or Frys? One thing is for sure, they’ll have to try hard to be half as bad as CompUSA. It’ll be interesting to see what happens, though I doubt the 16 locations would include Knoxville.

Na, na… na, na, na, na… hey, hey, hey… goodbye

For those of you that haven’t heard, CompUSA is closing their doors as a special gift to everyone in the new year. Chalk it up to unknowledgeable staff, lack of customer service, or just the general suck that was the very essence of CompUSA. The one, and only thing that I will miss about CompUSA is it was the only local place where I could pick up a case of Bawls.

If you think customer service sucked as well, as a customer, apparently the employee relations is just as bad. If things have always been this bad on the inside, no wonder the employees passed it on to the customers. Hate breeds hate.

Oh, and if you think you’ll be able to pick up some killer deals at the grand, “Going Out Of Business Sale” you can think again. Here in Knoxville, prices have been jacked up 20-30% just to offer a 10-20% “special” discount. I know, I know. What did I expect?
