Google – Earthlink Win San Fran WiFi Bid

The Register is reporting that the Google-Earthlink Team has won the bid to provide WiFi service to the city of San Francisco.

The service to be provided in the San Fran area will be a two tier service comprised of low speed WiFi for free and higher speed service for ~$20.00/mo.

Earthlink Releases Firefox Tools

Internet Service Provider, EarthLink has released “Earthlink Tools for Firefox“. You’ll find the following included in the “tools”:

  • Includes the EarthLink Toolbar, featuring ScamBlocker, and the hot new EarthLink theme.
  • Displays a visual protection rating for Web pages you are visiting.
  • Alerts you before you enter a page on our list of known fraudulent Web sites.
  • Integrates with Firefox’s built-in popup blocker.
  • Includes a built-in search box for fast, convenient searching.

Umm… yippie.
