Anyone who knows me should be well aware of the fact that I love food. I love to eat and I love to cook. While I can do it, I’ve never really been much of a baker… that was always mom and grandma’s thing. Though I did win a blue ribbon in 4H many moons ago for some drop biscuits I made from scratch.
Today, since it’s nice and cool out, and we’ve got the windows open, I decided I’d try to bake a loaf of Guinness Bread. No, not from scratch… I didn’t have that much time to put into it today. I actually used a pack of Guinness Bread mix (yes, I cheated!) that I picked up a few months ago from ShopIrish.com.
So, how’d it turn out you ask? Pretty damn good. It probably could have used a few more minutes in the oven, and cooling after that, but I was hungry and like my bread a little doughy.

I love sushi, and thanks to some of Farrah’s co-workers, she has actually discovered that she likes it as well. So, we’ve unofficially made a weekly thing of it.
For those of you in the K-town area, there is a new-ish place on Executive Park (Cedar Bluff) called Lemon Grass. — It’s where the Bel Air Grill was years ago. Anyway, this place has some awesome sushi. I’m be no means an expert, but I’ve yet to try something here that I didn’t like.
Speaking of trying something, I actually tried some Nigiri today. For those of you that don’t know what that is, it is basically a big chunk of fish over a ball of rice. It was great, and with any luck I’ll get Farrah to try it next week.

So, the wife drug me out to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire yesterday, even though I haven’t fully recovered from my Bronchitis. The movie was actually pretty good.
Anyway, after the movie we decided to give Johnny Carino’s a try for lunch. That place had to be the worst Italian food I have ever had. One of my usual dishes at any Italian restaurant is “Chicken Marsala”. It’s a simple dish, but they still managed to mess it up,
If you want good Italian food in Knoxville I’d suggest trying Romanos Macaroni Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, or Altruda’s.

Went to the wonderful Wally world yesterday to pick up some stuff. Tea, toliet paper, cokes, and some chocolate for the wife (more on this in a min).
For the past several weeks, I’ve started drinking Coke’s C2 instead of the regular Coca-Cola Classic. While it may not be the best thing to drink (especially for breakfast), I can get the satisfaction of knowing that it is somewhat better than the classic.
When I got to the beverage section of Wal*Mart, I found something odd. Cans of C2 comes in 8-packs; Not 6-packs, 12-packs, or 24-packs, but 8-packs. What’s up with that?
Also saw that Dr. Pepper has a new product out, Cherry-Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Kinda cool, I just wish that Coke has something like this. - And I’ve been saying that since Vanilla Coke came out. :p
Now, on to the chocolate subject.
My wife (who was busy playing World of Warcraft) asked me to go to Wal*Mart and get some drinks and some chocolate for her. Yup, that’s the whole reason I went there in the first place.
Well, what she failed to specify was exactly how much chocolate she wanted. So, being the excellent husband that I am, I bought her a nice 5 pound Hershey’s Chocolate Bar. You can see this thing at her blog.
