Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I was actually hoping for an angry mob with torches and pitchforks, but I guess a resignation will have to do. The University of Tennessee’s (Knoxville) head [football] coach Phillip Fulmer (aka Fat Phil) has decided to resign after this season.

Good bye!

Florida Destroys The Vols

Chomp chomp!

The Florida Gators defended the swamp this afternoon and handed out an ass whooping to the UT Vols. I thought scores like this only happened in video games, but no this is real….

Florida 59 – Tennessee 20

Gator QB Tebow played a hell of a game. Almost 300 yards passing, and rushed for two TDs. He’s a machine.

GoDaddy.com Superbowl Commercial

Wednesday, February 9th, 2005

For those of you who missed it, GoDaddy.com had one of the most talked about commercials of Superbowl XXXIX. While it wasn’t exactly a great commercial, it was somewhat funny in that it poked fun of the FCC, Janet, and the Superbowl committee.

GoDaddy.com was scheduled to have two slots during the Superbowl, but the 2nd slot was yanked after the NFL complained to FOX. Bob Parsons talks about FOX, the NFL, and GoDaddy.com’s commercials on his personal blog.

From his blog, you can also watch the GoDaddy.com Superbowl Commercial as well as a special, “Web Only” version.

Are You Ready For Some Football? It’s Time For Superbowl XXXIX!

Sunday, February 6th, 2005

It’s just about kickoff time for Superbowl XXXIX. Let’s hope the game, and the commercials kick ass. :) More later…

Update (6:27) – Lincoln Fry? WTF? So far the first round of commercials suck. Now we’re back and seeing some of the hero’s from WWII as well as those currently serving around the world. God bless our men and women in uniform. We’ll have the coin toss in just a min…

Update (6:38) – And The Eagles won the toss. Let’s get the game underway.

Update (6:42) – First turnover and we’re only on the third play of the game. Let’s hope The Eagles play better than this. Coach’s Challenge after the commercials. – Leave it to Budweiser to have a good commercial. – Ok, fumble was reversed brings up 4th down.

Update (7:05) – Some more good commercials. Another one from Budweiser, two from Pepsi, and one from domain register GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy happens to be the register I use and recommend.

Update (7:18) – Well after an interception that was overturned because of a flag, McNabb throws another interception the next play. I will say, it was a hell of a catch.

Update (7:37) – Nothing much happened during the 1st quarter, but Philly came out of the 2nd quarter with some very nice plays and hit the end zone first. 0-7 Philly.

Update (7:47) – Umm.. WTF was that. Fumble? Not even close. That has to go back to the Patriots. We’ll see… Just back from Commercial, and it was given back.

Update (7:52) – Fumble by Brady and the Eagles come away with the ball. The funniest thing was the ball was already out of the pile, and everyone was still looking for it.

Update (8:03) – Touchdown Patriots with about one minuite left in the 1st half.

Update (8:45) – Well, the half-time show was okay. Nothing great, but I guess FOX was trying to keep things as safe as possible with the way the FCC is now days. Can’t blame them I suppose. Back to the game.

Update (8:52) – Touchdown Patriots. Extra point is good. 14-7 Patriots.

Update (8:57) – I think Anheuser Bush should get the award for best commercial. I really didn’t expect that. As the commercial said, “Thank You“.

Update (9:13) – After an amazing drive Philly scores again. The game is tied up with about three and a half left in the 3rd quarter.

Update (9:25) – We just made Superbowl history. Superbowl XXXIX is the first ever to be tied after three quarters. We may just see this question on Jeopardy in a few years.

Update (9:29) – Patriots are now up, 21-14.

Update (10:01) – Philly has the ball with two minutes left in the game. 24-14 Patriots are ahead. I think it’s safe to call the winner now. I don’t think they have it in them to score 10 in the time remaining. Oh well Philly, there is always next year.

Update (10:08) – Damn. I may have been wrong. Philly just scored again. It’s a three point game now (Patriots got a FG earlier).

Update (10:19) – Ballgame. Patriots just intercepted. I’m sure the wife is happy the game is over. She slept through the 1st half and looked at care bear junk during the 2nd. Congrats to the Patriots for winning Superbowl XXXIX. Final score is 24-21.

Update (10:37) – And the MVP for Superbowl XXXIX is… Deon Branch. It’s time for the Simpsons now.
