The Instant Messenger 2 team has released IM2 v1.5.9 Beta in the process for finalizing their 1.6 version. Free download and change log for this release are available here.
Please note, that this is beta software and may crash. From past experience with IM2, I’d expect it to crash often. Though with every new release, there is the hope that IM2 gets better. Maybe one day this will become the multi-IM client of choice for people. That could very well happen with your feedback!
In case you didn’t notice, I removed the button for IM2 from the left side of my site. While IM2 is a program, the lack of support and the constant problems I’ve had with it haven’t left a good impression with me. I’ll continue to post news about IM2 here and on OCC, but I will not display a permanent link on my site until I find IM2 as a decent and reliable product. This could be tomorrow or it could be in 10 years. That all depends on them.

Well, it looks as if my time as the primary news poster for OverclockersClub.com may have come to an end. Recently, they have implemented a new web content filter at work that blocks out a lot of things, including the OCC Email system that I used to view submitted news items. Since I cannot post the daily news during the early AM anymore, I’ve told Matt that he might want to try and find someone else to help update this.
I’ll stick around and post news for other items, such as Opera and IM2 release information, gaming news and other items I come across during the day. Though Matt hasn’t said much about it, I’m sure he’d be happy to have someone around to help post news. If you’d be interested in posting news @ OCC, I’d suggest contacting Matt and letting him know.
Don’t worry.. the forums for some reason aren’t blocked by the new filter, so I’ll still be there day and night to kick people around. :p Yes, this means you.
On a related note, they’ve also blocked access to Blogger.com, which means I wont be able to blog until after work. Hmm… probably should be working during that time anyway, eh? :p

Those of you who visit here know I’ve been talking about IM2 for a few weeks. The new all-in-one messaging client has the potential to become an awesome program or utility. The 1.4 release offers many fixes, changes, and additions, (changelog) however it still doesn’t have enough to be that top dog in the IM market…. yet.
Hopefully the IM2 team can use the 1.4 version as a major stepping stone to improve their product. We’ll see. Stay tuned here or at OverclockersClub.com for future IM2 news.

Well, everyone knows that I’m a fan of the Opera Web Browser, so of course I’m going to post about it in my blog. :p
Today Opera Software release the Preview 2 (pre-beta) version of Opera 7.60 for Windows and Linux. - Remember, this is a pre-BETA version of the software.
Also, you may have read the post about IM2. They’ve released Release Candidate 2 (beta) version of IM2 v1.4. You’ll find that here if you want to give it a try. Still not enough to get me to switch from Trillian tho. :/

For those of you who visit here (all three of you), you may have noticed I’ve added a link to a new program under “Cool Apps”. IM2 (aka Instant Messenger 2) is a fairly new, multi-protocol program similar to Trillian, GAIM, and the others.
IMHO, it’s not quite ready for the big scene, but it defiantly has potential.
If v1.4 is 1/2 as good as it looks to be, I’ll most likely be dropping Trillian Pro. We’ll see come Nov. 1st when 1.4 is released.
