LOST – Season 5

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Tonight is the premier of LOST Season 5 on ABC. If I remember correctly, it’s two episodes tonight starting in about 30 minutes.

I’m really excited to see what happens this season. I’m sure in true lost fashion we’ll end up with more questions than answers. :P Here’s a preview:

Janurary TV

Monday, January 5th, 2009

I hadn’t really thought about this until today, but it looks like Janurary might be a good month for TV. Returning seasons, new seasons, finalies… there is a lot going on this month!

24 – I’m hooked on this show, and season seven which starts on the 11th will be the first season I’ll actually watch on TV. Yup, I’m late to the 24 club, but thanks to a friend (and Best Buy) I’m now caught up and eagerly awaiting the new season. There’s not enough time!!!

Battlestar Galactica – For a show that started out as the “best thing on TV” it sure went downhill fast. Part of that is because they broke 6-12 months between seasons, and part of it is because the show just lost it’s edge. It returns on Janurary 16th for not only the final episodes of season four, but also the final episodes of the series. Will we find out what happened to Earth? Who is the final Cylon? What happened when Starbuck “died”? At this point does anyone care anymore? It’s coming to an end, and hopefully it’ll end on an up swing.

House M.D. – Returning on the 19th is Dr. House and staff. This show is simply awesome, and I’m always eager for more House.

Fringe – The best way to describe this is to probably call it a modern day X-Files. It’s close, but certainly doesn’t do the show justice. It comes back on the 20th, and I cannot wait to see what Walter has to say in the new episodes. :D

LOST – The new season starts up on the 21st after a rather pathetic online game, “Dharma Wants You”. I love LOST, but lost intrest in that whole game very quikly… it simply didn’t hold up to the past games. Will we get any answers this season? Probably, but as always expect every answer to bring a dozen more questions. Will we find out more about the four toed statue? Doubt it.

Burn Notice – The 22nd is the return of Burn Notice. This show really took me buy surprise. I read about it on Neowin.net, and finally caught an episode of it. Prior to Neowin.net, I hadn’t heard or seen anything about it. It’s about a spy who has been blacklisted and dumped in Miami, and he’s trying to figure out who did it and why. Bruce Campbell is a co-star, which should be more than enough reason to watch it! :P

Stargate: Atlantis – I guess I should also note that Stargate: Atlantis finally dies on the 9th. I’m really surprised that the show lasted as long as it did, but it’s finally leaving. Oh sure, we’ll get a couple of direct to DVD movies out of the series, which will most certainly suck as much as the Stargate: SG-1 movies did.

24: Seasons 1 – 3

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

So, in the last three weeks I’ve managed to watch the first three seasons of 24 in its entirety. And I’ll be starting the fourth season either later tonight or tomorrow. This is reminiscent of when I started my LOST addiction, watching entire seasons over a weekend.

I’ve got to hand it to the writing team so far, they’ve kept me coming back for more. I love how no one, and I mean no one is safe. Thankfully towards the end of season three, my least favorite character was killed off.

One of the things I’ve really enjoyed about 24 so far is a lot of familiar faces, and a lot of actors that I like and never realized were part of the 24 universe. Actors like Tobin Bell (Saw), Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), Lou Diamond Phillips (Young Guns, Route 666), Dennis Hopper (Apocalypse Now), Zachary Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek), James Dale (The Black Donnely’s). It’s also nice to know that Henry Ian Cusick (Lost) and Michael Shanks (Stargate, Burn Notice, Eureka) will be in seasons that I have yet to watch.

So, I’ll be starting season four soon… then I’ll still have to watch five and six. Then next month a 2 hour TV movie 24: Redemption which bridges the gap between season six and season seven. Will I be caught up by then? Who knows… that really depends on a lot of things. I’d certainly like to be, but in the end I guess it won’t kill me if I’m not. — On the other hand, the wife might kill me if I am. ;)

There is one question that remains… how many more bad days can Jack Bauer have? Several, I hope.

Dharma Wants You

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

A few days ago the next Lost ARG officially opened it’s doors to user registration. Those who had previously filled out a request for information should have recieved a message pointing them to DharmaWantsYou.com. Right now it is strictly a user registration. No telling when the “game” will officially start, or even what the game will be this time.

I had fun playing through the Find 815 ARG that ran leading up to last season. I really wish I had been around (and a fan of lost) when the 1st game, The Lost Experiance, started after season two. – I didn’t start watching lost until season three when the wife and I watched season one in an entire weekend, and then watched season two a few weekends later. Yes, it was like crack.

Be sure to check out DocArzt’s Lost Blog for hints, news, and other information concerning the Lost ARG.

LOST, Eli Stone, & Jimmy Kimmel

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Tomorrow is the season four premier of LOST on ABC. Everyone’s known this for a long time, and we’ve been waiting for it. Well, word on the street is that during the premier of Eli Stone (immediately after LOST) there will be an announcement from Oceanic Airlines. Perhaps the find815.com game isn’t going to end with the lost premier? Anyone want to speculate what exactly the announcement might be?

Also, tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (meh) there are suppose to be some “never before seen LOST clips“. Let’s hope these lost LOST clips are better than the missing pieces that ABC’s been feeding us for the last few months.

Tom Selleck Joins Lost

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Thanks to DocArzt’s for making my day so much better. He’s posted a great video showing Tom Selleck in Lost.

Just watch the video.

Lost Map

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Saw this over on DarkUFO’s site. Eduardo has created a Lost Map that contains all of the information and locations found on Lostpedia. Because of the wealth of information he provides, it is probably more useful than my “Find 815 Map“. The difference between his map and mine… mine only covers the main elements of the Find 815 ARG, while his covers everything LOST.

He’s got a great map, and it is well worth checking out. Though be prepared for an information overload!

Fly Oceanic’s Website Adds New Link

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

There has been an update to FlyOceanicAir.com. I’m not sure if this is actually related to the game, or if this is more just for ABC so that they can cover their bases, but there is now a link for a privacy policy / terms of use (PDF). I’ve skimmed through it, and did not see any company name mentioned what-so-ever.

Is there a hidden clue? I’m sure people are already analyzing every line of the document.

DarkUFO Finds My “Find 815″ Map

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

I was reading through DarkUFO’s find815 section, and noticed something that looked very, very familiar. Searching for “Find815″ on Google Earth, a user found that billboard locations, and other related information was there. Sounds really, really cool at first.

Before you get your hopes up, this is not some unreleased part of the game or even an easter egg. Nope, this is the very same map that you can find right here. This is the “Find 815 Locations Map” that I created a few days ago. Though it looks like the Google Earth version may also include a merger or data from other LOST related maps.

Thanks to all the comments on DarkUFO’s blog saying how cool it is. Even if you didn’t know it was me, it still makes me happy to know people liked it. :D

Find 815 – Have You Seen It? It’s Missing!

Monday, January 7th, 2008

find815anewserver.PNGBeen watching TV, and realized it was past time for the new content to be released for the LOST “find 815″ game. Hit the bookmark, and the site I was brought to was most certainly not the lost815.com that I had expected. Nope, rather than the flash I should be seeing, I’m looking at “Apache’s HTTP Server Test Page”.

Did the server get hit a bit too hard? Looks like they may have had to reinstall the server software. Perhaps someone, or something just doesn’t want us to find 815. Hmmm…
