Jericho Season 3?

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

I just finished watching Jericho (S2E6). Thanks to the awful time slot, I have to watch Jericho on TiVo the next day. I’d love to watch during the airing, but you try staying up late and then getting up for work by 4 am. Anyway, I may be reading too much into this, but at the end of the episode it stated next week was the “season finale”. Season, not series. With one episode left, they should have already made up their mind if they were going to keep the show around or not.

I’m hoping they keep it around for another season or two. Yes, that’s optimistic, but I like the characters and I think they could do enough for two more full seasons.

Perhaps the lack of any official word is so they can surprise us during the episode and say “You love the show, you fought for the show, and Jericho will return in the fall for a full season.” Or maybe they’ll pull a season one stunt again, and just end it without telling anyone. Ok… I’ll try not to get my hope up too much between now and Tuesday. :p

Jericho

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

Thanks to a successful fan revolt, we brought Jericho back for a 2nd season. Granted, it may only be fore 7 episodes, but so far the episodes are really kicking ass.

As good as this season has been so far, it looks like the fans are in for another disappointment. The low number of viewers so far means that this is probably the last we’ll see of Jericho. It’s a shame too, because this really is a damn good show. What can you do though when the show airs at 10:00 pm on a Tuesday.

Fans Are Rice For Journeyman

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Looks like fans of Journeyman are taking a page out of the Jericho book. When CBS canceled Jericho, fans (including me) sent tons of nuts to CBS headquarters. The nutty planned worked, and soon Jericho will be back for a short season two. Now fans are trying a similar approach with NBC over Journeyman.

While it’s not as cool as the whole “Nuts for Jericho / Save Jericho” campaign, the Save Journeyman campaign is asking fans to send in Rice-A-Roni to NBC and NBC Universal executives. Why send in boxes of “The San Fransisco Treat”? Because Journeyman is set in that location. Duh.

Jericho: The Return

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

We’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and finally the wait is just about over. After a long, hard fight Jericho returns to CBS on February 12th. Remember, we only got an initial seven episodes for season two. If there is enough interest in these seven episodes, we’ll get a full season two. Remember to spread the word about the return of Jericho!

If you need a refresher, if you missed anything that happened in season one, or you never watched the show to begin with you can watch every episode for free online at CBS.com. And for those of you that haven’t seen it yet, there is a trailer for Jericho sitting out on YouTube. Let me say, the trailer rocks! Looks like CBS might actually help the show this time around.

"To The Fans of Jericho" Ad From CBS

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Just noticed a cool ad from CBS running on Google Adwords. In case you are running an adblocker, or if the ad isn’t there any more, I took a screen cap for your viewing pleasure. Assuming this is actually CBS sanctioned, it’s nice to see CBS responding to the fans in such a way.

Let’s hope they really beef up the ad machine when it comes to actually promoting Jericho this time around.

Jericho Saved! But The Mission Isn't Over.

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Congratulations to all of the fans of Jericho. You’ve saved the show according to a post on the official Jericho Message boards. While no return date has been committed yet, they did say seven episodes, and if it takes off there will be even more.

So, while this battle has been won, the war is far from over. Jericho is still going to need your help in order to stay alive. We fought hard to bring the show back, and we’re going to have to fight even harder to keep it. What can you do to help? Here are some ideas:

- Watch the show when it returns to CBS.
- Watch the re-runs this summer.
- Record the show on your TiVo or DVR.
- Buy the Season 1 DVD when it comes out in September.
- Buy or rent season 1 episodes on iTunes or Amazon Unbox
- Blog about the show.
- Tell your friends, family, co-workers, and the world to watch.

Thanks CBS! (I cannot believe I actually said that!)

Could We See A Return Of Jericho?

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Very cool news this morning… sorries appearing on TV.com and EW suggest that we may be getting closer to a return of Jericho. So far, it looks like the rumor is for CBS to order 7-8 episodes rather than a full 22-24 episode season. Will a mini season be good enough? Probably not, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Could Jericho End With Straight To TV/DVD Movie?

Monday, May 21st, 2007

According to an article posted on SyFy Portal it looks like there may yet be hope for Jericho. Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment said Jericho message boards, “Thank you for supporting ‘Jericho’ with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure in the compelling drama that was the ‘Jericho’ story“.

If we’re lucky, this could mean that Jericho could get another season to wrap up the story, or better yet… they could produce a two-ish hour movie and push it straight to DVD/TV. I think a couple of straight-to-DVD movies would work well… combined with the Season 1 DVD set. Yeah, I’d buy it all. I enjoyed the show.

Digg Mob Fights To Save Jericho

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Let’s hope the power of “The Digg Mob” can convince CBS that Jericho is a show it should keep around for a while longer! I’m all for sending “nuts” (see the 2nd link below) to CBS!

Digg these stories to help out:

And don’t forget to follow the links after you digg ‘em.

Jericho Is Canceled

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Well this sucks…. According to Variety.com, CBS has canceled Jericho. I really enjoyed the show, and that makes the 2nd show that’s been killed that my wife and I enjoyed. Earlier in the year, NBC killed off The Black Donnellys after only a partial season.

Both shows were enjoyable. No, they may not have been the best thing on TV, but they were good. They were a lot better than most of the crap that is on TV these days. Then there was the big announcement that after 10 seasons, Stargate: SG-1 would be ending. Everything good is going away.

Speaking of crap…. I’m really hoping that when Battlestar Galactica returns next year (ouch) that it’ll be better than Season 3 was…. if they continue to run episodes like 95% of last season, they’ll probably lose me, and a number of other people as a viewer.

Heroes, House, and Lost (which ends in 2010) wrap up over the next week or two… and that’s pretty much it for this season of good TV. Thankfully we’ll have Eureka and Dr. Who coming back this summer… along side a mini-spinoff of Heroes!

Is there anything else good on TV right now? I don’t want another frakking “reality TV” program, I’ve been over those for a long time.
