Also worth mentioning is the release of OpenOffice.org 1.1.4. Not many changes as far as anything I use, but still recommended anyone who uses OOo upgrades the the latest. Can’t wait for 2.0 personally.

OpenOffice.org (also known as just OOo) released a “snapshot build” for the upcoming OOo 2.0. Alpha, beta, preview, release candidate, snapshot, call it whatever you want. It’s a pre-release that will most likely crash and will have bugs. The OOo team would like help testing it out.

Those of you who have never used OOo I’d suggest giving it a try. It’s a nice, powerful, and free alternative to Microsoft Office. OOo is available on Windows and Linux which is handy for working in multiple environments.
