Announcing my latest project. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

I love OCC. I’ve poured who knows how much money and time into the place over the years. The place has built up a great community, an awesome staff, and continues to grow rapidly.

But ever since I was asked to come back to the site, I’ve been a bit… out of place. Over the years my technical areas have “evolved” and my experience has changed focus. I could once rattle off the different Intel and AMD processor models and their speeds, cache and other specs. Now, I’m lucky to remember what processor I have in my PC, much less the speed.

But I continue to help out with OCC, because like I said, I love the place. I leave the technical stuff to the guys that know more about it now, and stay pretty much behind the scenes doing adminly type stuff.

But lately, I’ve been working on a new project… Continue reading

OCC Acquires Another Website, TalkAndroid

This actually happened early in June, but I’m just now getting around to posting about it here on my blog. Overclockers Club has acquired control of a new website: TalkAndroid.com. As you might expect from the website name they are dedicated to covering all things related to Google’s Android OS.

OCC is a community for PC enthusiast, likewise TalkAndroid is a place for Android enthusiast.

You can expect to see a lot of the same faces at TalkAndroid as you’ve seen at OCC. Dave (Bosco) is running it while Scott (sdy) assumes the role of Editor-In-Chief. Others from OCC that are helping out over there include Nerm, Geekspeek, and Silverfox. You may even see me around from time-to-time, though being a fan of another company’s products, I’m not sure how much of a contributor I’ll be.

In 2008 OCC acquired DIY Street which helped strengthen an already great community.

Why Do So Many Still Fail To Understand Twitter?

I use to consider myself a computer enthusiast. I don’t any more, nowadays I like to think of myself as a tech junkie. I love my gadgets… my TiVo, my iPhone, my Garmin, and my game consoles. I enjoy reading about new technology and gadgets, and the latest trends on the social networks. I really don’t care what video card or processor I have in my system, and I can swap any component out without much of a thought. It’s pretty strange, considering I’m an administrator for OverclockersClub.com, a large computer enthusiast community.

Today is Monday, and like always I created a new “weekly poll” in the OCC forums. This week’s poll came by request from Dave, the owner and operator of OCC. He wanted to know how many people on OCC used Twitter. I knew this was going to be a one way street, but I went ahead and posted it. Continue reading

Back To Basics

As you can see, I’m back to the default WordPress theme right now. It sucks, and that is part of why I’m using it right now. You see, I’ve been unhappy with my old theme for a while now, and I’ve been wanting to get something new posted. Hopefully this will encourage me to get that done. Of course, before I do anything to my site I have to get the new forum skin finished for OverclockersClub.com, which I am more than a little late on wrapping up.
