We already know that there is an iPhone SDK in the works, and Apple plans to have it available for developers next month. And there is a pretty good chance that we’ll see something about it this week, if not today during Steve Job’s MacWorld 2008 keynote.
My question is, once the SDK is available will we see an Opera browser on the iPhone? I’ve not had any problems surfing with my iPhone, aside from the occasional “safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding” error message. If my experience is already good, could it get better? Continue reading »

The Nintendo Wii has been out for over a year now, and it’s still pretty damn hard to find. For those of you still looking for Wii, there is some good news for you. According to this site, Nintendo is planning on offering a “rain check” program.
Announced by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, the program will be offered via Gamestop retailers on 12/20 and 12/21. You’ll pay the full price of the Wii ($249.00) and it’ll be available for pick up sometime before 1/29/2008. That’s the plan anyway.

It’s rather funny. I went on a little rant this morning about never seeing a Wii in stock anywhere. Earlier today I went to Wal*Mart to pick up some stuff, and what did they have in stock? You guessed it, Nintendo Wiis.
So listen up Knoxville area, if you are looking for a Wii there are two Wal*Marts in the area that have them. Wal*Mart on Clinton Highway and the one in Oak Ridge. I’ve called the other area locations, and you won’t find them at any other Wal*Mart. Target, EBGames, and GameStop are also still out of stock.
The store in Oak Ridge has about a dozen available, or at least they did while I was there.

Can someone explain to me where all of the Nintendo Wiis are? I’ve been trying to get one since it was originally released way back in 2006. I actually stood in line at a local EB Games where I was 2 spots behind the cutoff mark. It has now been 8 months, and I have only seen a Wii in stock once and that was at the Super Target about 6 weeks ago.
So, where are they? According to the Wii Wikipedia entry, as of June 2, 2007, Nintendo has sold over 3,121,280 Wiis in the North American market alone and 8.2 million worldwide. Where are these things being sold at? Are the kids on summer vacation running to EB, GameStop, Target, Wal+Mart, Toys R Us, and every other store under the sun and buying the Wiis up to sell on EBay? It’s possible with 2200+ auctions up on the board.
You’d think though with the number of retail stores around the Knoxville area that the chances of grabbing a Wii would still be pretty good. Apparently not. The ninja looters have them all.
